Angels Gate Cultural Center presents the Upend Female Experience and Activism

Opening Reception is Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The exhibition runs through August 17, 2024.

UPEND  provides a response and counter to the increased societal distress of a return to toxic hypermasculinity, resulting in a growing acceptance of subjugation of women’s rights. By sharing the experiences of women, UPEND depicts strength and resistance in a decidedly female-identifying voice – upending expectations for what can and cannot be said, and how women should act.

The exhibition is curated by Cecelia Koger and features works by Kennedi Carter, Nonny de la Peña, Ibuki Kuramochi, Andrea Patrie, Elyse Pignolet, She Loves Collective, Suzanna Scott, Sheli Silverio, Kayla Tange.

The opening will feature a performance by She Loves Collective.

The event is free and open to the public. RSVP for free here!
