It is a love story set in a fictional jazz club where two people journey to Kansas City as part of the Great Migration. SCAT! Tells a powerful tale of the aftermath when aspirations are impacted by the harsh realities of American life during the 1940s and 1950s. The 90-minute dance work, set to an original jazz score by Craig Harris, will be performed with a live band at The Music Center’s Mark Taper Forum.

East West Players’ Theatre for Youth Touring Production presents the the story of  Kailani, an 18-year-old senior and star athlete, at Maui High School. While anxiously waiting to find out if she’s been accepted into her dream school, Patsy Mink, the first Asian-American congresswoman and former valedictorian of Maui High school, appears before her. As Patsy walks Kailani through the many trials and tribulations she faced throughout her political career and life, Kailani realizes that no matter how many setbacks she encounters, she can succeed as long as she perseveres. Timeless and multi-layered, Waiting for Godot changed the course of contemporary drama and remains as resonant and riveting as ever.
