Floricanto kicks off its 50th-anniversary celebration with our most beloved production: Fiesta del Día de Los Muertos. Audience members are invited to add the names of their loved ones to our community altar. This full evening dance production honors the memories of those who have passed. As Vladimir and Estragon wait and wait for the arrival of the elusive Godot, a cast of mysterious misfits interrupt their endless vigil in Samuel Beckett’s tragi-comic masterpiece that has captivated audiences for decades. Timeless and multi-layered, Waiting for Godot changed the course of contemporary drama and remains as resonant and riveting as ever.

East West Players’ Theatre for Youth Touring Production presents the the story of  Kailani, an 18-year-old senior and star athlete, at Maui High School. While anxiously waiting to find out if she’s been accepted into her dream school, Patsy Mink, the first Asian-American congresswoman and former valedictorian of Maui High school, appears before her. As Patsy walks Kailani through the many trials and tribulations she faced throughout her political career and life, Kailani realizes that no matter how many setbacks she encounters, she can succeed as long as she perseveres. Good for ages 11 years old and up.

All bets are off, limits on boundaries and form wide open, with shows that range in style from classic comedy to poignant drama, from Shakespearian to one-woman-shows, from slam poetry to stand-up comedy and improv, from parody to fairytale – something for everyone. Inclusive theatre arts workshops for youth and adults are available throughout the festival.
