Every Saturday, the market features regional farmers, food, and artisan vendors who bring a diverse selection of local produce as well as sprouts, breads, nuts, baked goods, and delicious prepared food. The market also hosts monthly events including cooking demonstrations, tastings, and children’s activities.

This is a time to explore the art and food of our global community. This session’s theme is “Rainbow Gardens: from Cali to Southeast Asia.” Children and their parents are welcome to see an art exhibit connecting California urban farmers to the food of Southeast Asia.

Explore South LA’s Black history on a guided 4-hour van tour. Visit iconic neighborhoods, hear untold stories, and support local businesses. Tours run on Saturdays, offering an enriching, off-the-beaten-path experience celebrating culture, history, and community impact. Perfect for visitors of all ages.

The Crenshaw Eat and See Tour explores South LA’s cultural and culinary highlights. Begin with a scenic drive through historic neighborhoods, including Crenshaw, Leimert Park, Hyde Park, and View Park-Windsor Hills. Enjoy brunch at Dulan’s, shop at Leimert Park Village and Afrocity Marketplace, indulge in a wine experience at Adams Wine Shop, and conclude with a visit to the Reparations Book Club.

At this in-person celebration, presentations will be made to the 2025 Living Legends Honorees: Richard Brooks, Pioneering Artist, Emmy-nominated Actor; and, George Weaver, Environmental Policy Innovator and Architect of Youth Hope, Brotherhood Crusade, and 2025 Hall of Fame Honorees: Dr. Mike Davis, President of New Frontier Democratic Club; Lynell George, Grammy Award-winning Writer, and Guardian of African American Narratives; Darnell Hunt, Dean and Executive Vice Chancellor, UCLA, and Author; Cecily Myart-Cruz, President, United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA); Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith, Dean of Charles Drew University College of Medicine, Founding Dean CDU MD Program; Dr. Jessie L. Sherrod, Pioneering Physician and Founder LA Association of Black Women Physicians (ABWP); and, Dr. Richard Allen Williams, Pioneering Cardiologist, Healthcare Equity Advocate, and Cultural Innovator, The Association for the Study of African American Life and History’s national theme for Black History Month is African Americans and Labor. We honor this theme and salute the present and past members of Our Authors Study Club, Inc., who first partnered with the City 75 years ago in 1950 to celebrate our history of accomplishment and resilience while looking forward to the future to excite and encourage others to join in keeping Black history alive and vibrant. In partnership with Jeremie Six, the 41st Postmaster of Los Angeles, the Postal Service will unveil the 2025 Black History Month Stamp. The 48th stamp in the Black Heritage series honors Allen Toussaint (1938-2015), award-winning artist, legendary New Orleans writer, singer, producer, songwriter, arranger, session pianist, and solo artist.

Come see the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Venus close-up through telescopes. Weather permitting, the Sidewalk Astronomers will set up telescopes outside the library for everyone to view the night sky. Bring your questions.

Approximately 25 certified California farms, live entertainment, activities, and Main Street based retail vendors present a vibrant atmosphere where locals and visitors alike shop and spend the morning with friends and family.  

This market was established in 1995 and is a collaboration with the Main Street Business Improvement Association, Ocean Park resident group, the Victorian and the Heritage Museum.  Approximately 40 certified California farms, live entertainment, activities, and Main Street based retail vendors present a vibrant atmosphere where locals and visitors shop and spent the morning with friends and family.

The Main Street market is open Sundays from 8:30am to 1:30pm, rain or shine, and may be closed for selected holidays.

All four markets accept Cal Fresh EBT and WIC-Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks.

The Sunday Main Street and Saturday Pico markets also provide a Market Match program for Cal Fresh EBT customers.  Market Match is California’s healthy food incentive program that matches customers’ CalFresh nutrition assistance benefits at farmers markets.  The Main Street Market (in partnership with ARP) matches up to $20 and the Pico Market Match Program (in partnership with Hunger Action Los Angeles) matches up to $15 for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables.
