Women are taking over Boystown for WeHo Pride. Women’s Freedom Festival returns for a third year at West Hollywood Pride. The festival will feature emerging LGBTQ and BIPOC women, non-binary musicians, comedians, poets, and activists. The fantastic lineup of artists is ready to rock the stage for you. This event is all-inclusive and multicultural.

Rubén Esparza’s Untitled (flag) series challenges the symbolic meaning of the American flag and questions the sociopolitical history that has made it recognizable globally. A symbol of the American dream for some, and capitalist imperialism for others, the history of the American flag is fraught and complicated.

Long Beach Museum of Art is honored to exhibit this prolific artist in Long Beach for the first time. Haring’s guiding principle was that art should belong to everyone, which in turn is the driving force of this exhibition. It has appeared in New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, and the northern cities of Monza and Parma, Italy, offering powerful examples of how Haring fought for change, using art as a platform for activism.

This will be the first major international tour of pioneering artist Mickalene Thomas’s work. Marking its debut at The Broad with over 80 works from the last 20 years, the exhibition highlights how Thomas has mastered and innovated within several disciplines, from mixed-media painting and collage to installation and photography.

ONE Archive at USC Libraries and LA as Subject are excited to announce the debut of Hidden Histories: Discovering Los Angeles’ LGBTQ+ Collections. Hidden Histories aims to create a centralized resource of LGBTQ+ archival material for researchers and community members.  A generous grant from the California State funds this project Library.

 Artist and retired Director of Global Advocacy & Partnerships for the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Joey Terrill, speaks about his life’s work as an artist and activist focusing on issues facing queer Chicano communities in Los Angeles and beyond.
