Latino Heritage Month

This interactive and educational permanent exhibition invites families to explore the sights, sounds and smells of downtown Los Angeles during the 1920s. Calle Principal is an immersive recreation of Main Street, the one-time heart of Los Angeles’s Mexican, Mexican-American, and immigrant communities—and the street where LA Plaza sits on today.

Used as a teaching tool, pottery is one of the most enduring indicators of culture. We at the American Museum of Ceramic Art are celebrating the rich and enduring history of Latinx and Indigenous pottery this  Latino Heritage Month. Bring our Mud Mobile outreach program to your school or event. Led by our teaching artists, this educational art experience allows students to interact with artwork from our Mata Ortiz and Pueblo pottery collections and create their air-dry clay projects.

The annual Hispanic Heritage Festival recognizes and celebrates Hispanic and Latino Americans’ rich heritage, culture, and contributions. The event will include live entertainment, a classic car show, interactive and Carnival-style games, health screenings, vendors, information booths, and a food court.
