Description
Theater under the stars! This summer the fully staged productions of Love’s Labour’s Lost (Shakespeare) and Doctor Faustus ( Marlowe) is presented the stellar classical actors of Independent Shakespeare Co. Broadway World says “ISC delivers a rousing good time whenever they strut their stuff!” Pack a picnic, grab your friends and family by the hand and meet us in the iconic Old Zoo in Griffith Park. Performances are free and open to the public!

  • Love’s Labour’s Lost  Wednesdays through Sundays, from June 25 to July 27, at 7:00 p.m.(No performance July 4th).
  • Doctor Faustus Wednesdays through Sundays, from August 6 to August 31, at 7:00 p.m.

Since 1975, the Valley Cultural Center has presented a series of free Concerts during the summer. Organized to enrich the lives of Valley residents, these concerts feature top pop, jazz, classical, folk, and world music performances in the afternoon at Warner Park. Prior to the colonization of Southern California in the 18th century, Native communities throughout the region deployed controlled fire regimes to ensure the well-being of their local ecosystems. Fire Kinship counters attitudes of fear and illegality around fire, arguing for a return to Native practices in which fire is regarded as a vital aspect of land stewardship, community well-being, and tribal sovereignty.
