The DCA Evening Webinar Series for Arts Workers, in partnership with Arts for LA, is an opportunity for the local arts and cultural community to build networks through listening, learning, and exchanging insights. This year, the program comprises six cohorts.

These evening exchanges offer opportunities for attendees to ask questions, share comments or recommendations, and interact at the end of the sessions. If interested, local artists and arts workers are welcome and encouraged to join multiple cohorts throughout the course of the series.

These meetings (starting at or after 6:00 p.m. PST) are virtual and held on regular intervals (monthly or biweekly) to encourage consistent enrollment, continuous participation, and evolving benefits. lease note that all the cohort meetings will be recorded.

Interact Theatre Company presents five plays awarded America’s highest literary honor, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Join us on a captivating journey through the annals of modern dramatic literature with our curated staged readings of five theatrical masterpieces, presented in partnership with the Los Angeles Public Library, made possible in part by a grant from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and produced by Barry Heins and Kristen Egermeier. These performances will be held on the second Saturday of each month between January through May 2024.

Bahia Reverb: Artists and Place presents the work of ten former fellows at the Sacatar Institute in Bahia, Brazil, all from North America and of African descent, to reflect on how Bahia, an epicenter of the African diaspora, has fueled their work and changed their understanding of themselves.

Artists include Gerald Cyrus, Juan Erman Gonzalez, Mark Steven Greenfield, Karen Hampton, Rik Freeman, Francis Tre Lawrence, Germaine Ingram, Sandra Brewster, Precious Lovell, and Tim Whiten.

Bahia Reverb: Artists and Place is organized by the California African American Museum (CAAM) and Art + Practice (A+P). The exhibition is curated by Bia Gayotto, independent curator, artist, and writer. CAAM at A+P is a five-year collaboration.

The event showcases a broad array of Black creative works from the world over, highlighting those that reinforce positive images and help to destroy negative stereotypes. Nowhere else can audiences find this unique opportunity to come together through film and art to explore new worlds, meet new people, and acquire new information and ideas. In person and virtual screenings. Check the website for ticket and time information. Ticket prices vary, there are free events and the average movie ticket is $10.
