The Last Play by Rickérby Hinds, a meta-theatrical work written by the real Rickérby Hinds, was commissioned by Latino Theater Company and developed in the company’s Circle of Imaginistas playwriting group. An Afro Latino playwright, blocked by the challenge of writing what he believes will be his final play, summons characters from some of his previous plays for inspiration — only to confront chaos, comedy and a deeper understanding of his identity and the true meaning of success. This visually stunning production tells the story of sixteen-year-old Pi, who survives a shipwreck and is stranded on a lifeboat with a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan, and a Bengal tiger.  East West Players’ Theatre for Youth Touring Production presents the the story of  Kailani, an 18-year-old senior and star athlete, at Maui High School. While anxiously waiting to find out if she’s been accepted into her dream school, Patsy Mink, the first Asian-American congresswoman and former valedictorian of Maui High school, appears before her. As Patsy walks Kailani through the many trials and tribulations she faced throughout her political career and life, Kailani realizes that no matter how many setbacks she encounters, she can succeed as long as she perseveres. Good for ages 11 years old and up.

Leading an amateur group, Alfie endeavors to stage Oscar Wilde’s Salome despite societal challenges. This evocative musical explores themes of identity, acceptance, and the transformative power of art. Directed by Julia Rodriguez-Elliott, the production runs from May 4 to June 1, 2025, at A Noise Within.
