The Crazy Superhero Vacation is a production by Ms. Neate’s class at Vena Avenue Elementary. Animation and editing are by Pieter Hardeman of Toy Story Lab. Southland Sings is a creative organization using the arts to unlock creative potential through live opera, musical theatre production, education assemblies, and music composition for all ages.

The Kadima String Quartet presents an energetic and interactive introduction to the string quartet  on Wednesday, October 16, at 1:30 p.m. at LA Valley College; Saturday, November 2, at 12:00 p.m. at the Northridge Public Library; and Tuesday, November 12, at 1:30 p.m. at LA Mission College Amp Theather.

This concert is free and open to the public and is suitable for audiences of all ages

Since 2007, JANM has partnered with Eric Nakamura, founder of Giant Robot, to produce the Giant Robot Biennale, a recurring art exhibition that highlights diverse creative works celebrating the ethos of Giant Robot—a staple of Asian American alternative pop culture and an influential brand encompassing pop art, skateboard, comic book, graphic arts, and vinyl toy culture.

Giant Robot Biennale 5 will feature artists Sean Chao, Felicia Chiao, Luke Chueh, Giorgiko, James Jean, Taylor Lee, Mike Shinoda, Rain Szeto, and Yoskay Yamamoto.

East West Players’ Theatre for Youth Touring Production presents the the story of  Kailani, an 18-year-old senior and star athlete, at Maui High School. While anxiously waiting to find out if she’s been accepted into her dream school, Patsy Mink, the first Asian-American congresswoman and former valedictorian of Maui High school, appears before her. As Patsy walks Kailani through the many trials and tribulations she faced throughout her political career and life, Kailani realizes that no matter how many setbacks she encounters, she can succeed as long as she perseveres. Good for ages 11 years old and up.

Please join the educational and participatory event of music, dance, storytelling and spoken word celebrating the historic and contemporary cultures and wisdom of our local Tongva, Tataviam, Chumash, other native populations of California, and the Americas who make LA home.

A festival informed by workshops, gifted with craft, fed by fry bread and lifted up by the life-saving environmental worldview of the Indigenous.
