Since 2007, JANM has partnered with Eric Nakamura, founder of Giant Robot, to produce the Giant Robot Biennale, a recurring art exhibition that highlights diverse creative works celebrating the ethos of Giant Robot—a staple of Asian American alternative pop culture and an influential brand encompassing pop art, skateboard, comic book, graphic arts, and vinyl toy culture.

Giant Robot Biennale 5 will feature artists Sean Chao, Felicia Chiao, Luke Chueh, Giorgiko, James Jean, Taylor Lee, Mike Shinoda, Rain Szeto, and Yoskay Yamamoto.

Description

Jazz at LACMA is a celebration of L.A.’s finest jazz musicians and has featured such legends as Wayne Shorter, The Yellowjackets, Quincy Jones All Star Orchestra with John Clayton, Arturo Sandoval, Jeff Lorber, Billy Childs, Tierney Sutton, Ernie Watts, and many more. Concerts are broadcast on KJAZZ (88.1 FM) every Sunday evening from 7–9 pm and include interviews with featured performers. Jazz at LACMA is produced under the direction of Director of Music Programs Mitch Glickman.

 Women In Film (WIF) is excited to host FROM IDEA TO SCREEN- EMILY GROOMS, featuring works (episodes, short films, scenes, features) created by the class of the 2024 Fellowships.

A virtual event is schedule for Thursday, May 22, from 6:00 to 7:40 p.m. and in-person event is scheduled Tuesday, June 3, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at WIF Headquarters.

Each screening will include a hands-on review of the script or other artistic process material. Followed by a moderated conversation on process and expertise, and about experiences breaking into the industry.
