Love, LAMAG: Art Talks on Open Call: Apophenia

The Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery presents Love, LAMAG, an annual program celebrating the gallery’s dedication to contemporary art since 1945. This year Love, LAMAG is a series of art talks led by LAMAG staff on Open Call: Apophenia, a non-juried exhibition featuring youth, students, professional, and non-professional artists to present their artwork side by side. The art talks are free, insightful, and short discussions on the beloved exhibition format, themes, and participating artists. The series culminates with an extended invitation to all Open Call participants to join LAMAG staff in the gallery on March 16th to celebrate the end of the exhibition.

The City of Los Angeles Board of Public Works and the Bureau of Contract Administration cordially invite you to the 8th annual BuildWith event in collaboration with Mayor Karen Bass, the Office of Budget and Innovation, and the Office of Economic Development. Our theme for this year is “Keeping the City Moving” with a focus on the construction and transportation industries. The two-part, virtual BuildWith 2024 event will provide the opportunity for diverse construction-related businesses to learn about City and Los Angeles metropolitan-area projects, and receive valuable business resources and information. First register for the virtual Webinar, then apply for one of the limited Prime Contractor Matchmaking Rooms and Subcontractor Matchmaking spots.   Applying does not guarantee the applicant a matchmaking Zoom room. Register by February 23, 2024, to participate. Applicants must have a Zoom account.   Apply to be a Subcontractor: Complete the BuildWith 2024 Matchmaking Spot Application. Deadline to be considered for a free matchmaking room with matched subcontractors is no later than 5:00 p.m., February 13, 2024. Applications are subject to approval. Matchmaking spots are not guaranteed. Apply online: accessingla.com.   Apply to be a Prime: Complete the Prime: BuildWith 2024 Matchmaking Table Application. Deadline to be considered is no later than February 9, 2024, or when capacity has been reached, whichever comes first. Applications are subject to approval. As part of the expanded program, DCA|PERF invited local Storytellers who identify as Chinese, Korean, and/or Vietnamese to submit a short story they will perform at the Eastern Projects Gallery. The selected story tellers will join three performers. Stories will be 5-10 minutes in length. Join us on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

DCA’s Performing Arts Division is delighted to present the Second Annual Lunar New Year Celebration beginning February 3 to March 3, 2024. Launched in 2023, the Lunar New Year Celebration program expands this year to nine events. The festivities include Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese culturally-specific events across the City of Los Angeles. Celebratory performances include cultural dance, food and arts festivals, film screenings, street fairs, parades, story-telling, and spoken-word. We invite you, your family, and friends to participate in these joyous community gatherings.This year’s Lunar New Year events are as follows:

10th Annual Port of Los Angeles Lunar New Year Celebration
